Obsidian's trying to be a good dog.

Obsidian is a Runner Xenomorph whose host was a pit-mix. You'd think he would want to chase and eat cats, but if you've ever watched Ridley Scott's Alien (1979), you'll realize that even when given the chance, a Xenomorph won't attack a cat.

That was one scene I loved in the original; it gave the monster a natural side, like it was merely trying to survive (which unfortunately meant bad things for the humans) and it wasn't just out to rip everythings' heads off.

And let's face it, if there's a pet in the movie no one wants it to die. Even if all the people are killed, as long as Mittens or Fido remains alive, all is well lol
